KC Lightning Volleyball Club aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete. A high-quality experience is one in which every athlete:

• Is coached using the principles of Positive Coaching
• Has fun at practices and games
• Feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance
• Learns “life lessons” that have value beyond the playing field
• Learns the skills, tactics and strategies of the game and improves as a player.

Our coach's top goals are to:

• Model and teach their players to Honor the Game
• Teach ROOTS – respect for Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, and one’s Self.
• Help players pursue mastery of their sport, not just scoreboard wins
• Teach players the ELM Tree of Mastery (Effort, Learning, and bouncing back from Mistakes)
• Use encouragement and positive reinforcement as their primary method of motivating.

KC Lightning Volleyball Club is named after, and in honor of Kansas City's  first professional volleyball team, the Kansas City Lightning, of the National Volleyball Association. For more information, please click on their logo.
